French forward, Kylian Mbappe, netted a whopping four goals as Spanish Giants, Real Madrid, edged out Greek side, Olympiacos, in a Uefa Champions League 2025/26 League Phase thriller on Wednesday 26 November, 2025 at Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki.
The hosts shocked Xabi Alonso’s Los Blancos with an early lead, in the 8th minute, through Francisco Chiquinho’s 20-yard strike.
But the visitors got infuriated and responded three times with Mbappe’s hat-trick in the 22nd, 24th and 29th minutes – the second quickest hat-trick ever in the history of the Uefa Champions League.
The former PSG star first converted Brazilian winger, Vinicius Jr’s assist, and then headed in a cross from youngster, Arda Güler. Mbappe beat the offside trap and scored his hat-trick from Eduardo Camavinga’s pass.
A goal by Vinicius in the 32nd minute was struck out by Video Assistant Referee (VAR) after Mbappe was found in offside position.
In the 52nd minute, a powerful header from substitute Mehdi Taremi brought the Greek hosts back into the clash.
And Mbappe netted his fourth goal of the game in the 60th minute from a pass by Vinicius, but, another header this time by Ayoub el Kaabi handed Olympiacos some late hope.
Alonso’s men held on until the final whistle and returned home with all three (3) points.
The result puts to an end a three-game winless run for Real Madrid in all competitions.
Real Madrid, who are Spanish La Liga 2025/26 Leaders, are now fifth in the Uefa Champions League standings, three points off leaders Arsenal, while their Greek hosts, Olympiacos, are 33rd on two (2) points.
