C Ronaldo ‘specially’ recognized after 22 years with Portugal

Forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has bagged a “special recognition” after fielding for his country, Portugal, for twenty-two (22) years.

The Saudi Professional League club, Al Nassr, goal machine, said, “I continue with the same passion”.

The former Manchester United forward joined the Portugal Senior National Team in 2003 and has recorded more than 220 appearances and netted 141 goals.

In his appreciation, Ronaldo wrote on X: “Proud of this special recognition. 22 years with the National Team and I continue with the same passion. Thank you to all the coaches and teammates who helped me get here. Thank you, @selecaoportugal!”

With Portugal, Ronaldo has won Uefa European Championship (2016), Uefa Nations League (2018/19, 2024/25).

Individually, the former Juventus forward, has carted five (5) Ballon D’Or (2008, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017); FIFA World Player Of The Year (2008); Best FIFA Men’s Player (2016, 2017); among many other awards.

Ronaldo’s Al Nassr are currently at the Summit of the Saudi Professional League 2025/26 table with twelve (12) points from four (4) encounters.
