Lagos has made history by becoming the “the first African city” to host the E1 electric powerboat race, the E1 Lagos GP.
Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said, the move shows the kind of “future” Lagos is building – which has to do with “clean energy and opportunities for our young people”.
This mean the city of Lagos has now joined top cities like, “Monaco, London” on the E1 calendar.
Sanwo-Olu thanked President Tinubu for his reminder on the commitment of Nigeria to “sustainability and the blue economy.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu posted on X: “Lagos has made history as the first African city to host the E1 electric powerboat race, the E1 Lagos GP.
“This speaks to the future we are building, one of clean energy, innovation, and opportunities for our young people.
“I thank H.E President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his goodwill message and his reminder of Nigeria’s commitment to sustainability and the blue economy.
“By joining cities like Monaco, London, and Venice on the E1 calendar, Lagos has once again shown that we are bold, resilient, and ready to take our place on the global stage.”
