President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent his felicitations to Monday Okpebholo as the Governor of Edo State marked his 55th birthday on Friday 29 August, 2025.
The President described Okpebholo as a “committed democrat”, who is focused on serving the people of the South-South State.
The President’s greetings were conveyed in a State House Press Release signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on Friday 29 August, 2025.
Senator Monday Okpebholo assured office as Executive Governor of Edo State in 2024 under the ruling All Progressives Congress, succeeding Godwin Obaseki, who served under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The State House Press Release reads: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rejoices with Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State on his 55th birthday, describing him as a committed democrat dedicated to serving his people.
“President Tinubu extols Gov. Okpebholo’s devotion to good governance and the welfare of his people, especially at the grassroots, noting that his leadership reflects a strongsense of responsibility and an uncommon bond with the people of Edo State.
“The President acknowledges the Governor’s contributions to fostering peace, unity, and sustainable development in the state and urges him to sustain the tempo.
“The Nigerian leader prays for Governor Okpebholo’s continued good health, wisdom, and strength as he steers the affairs of Edo State and contributes to Nigeria’s growth and progress for years to come.”
