‘Onana is ready to play’ – Amorim

Manager Ruben Amorim has released Manchester United news update ahead of the Reds’ Premier League clash against Fulham on Sunday evening.

Manchester United will be looking to record their first victory of the Premier League 2025/26, after a sad lone goal defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford in the Club’s season opener.

New additions, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, recorded their full debuts in M16, while Benjamin Sesko also appeared for the first time in red, after replacing English midfielder Mason Mount in the second 45 minutes.

The Portuguese manager fielded a very strong squad against Mikel Arteta’s Gunners at home, with Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui the only confirmed absentees due to injury.

Manchester United will face Fulham in their next Premier League match on Sunday 24 August, 2025 at Craven Cottage at 16:30 (WAT).

Both Martinez and Mazraoui are set to be missing in action for the visitors; Amorim provided information about the availability of Cameroonian shot stopper, Andre Onana.

Altay Bayindir was in charge of the post as the Cameroon international was missing for the hosts on Sunday against Arsenal.

Onana has recovered from the injury he picked up during Manchester United’s pre-season, however, Amorim did not confirm whether the goalie will be available against Fulham or not.

According to Manchester United official website, Amorim said: “Onana is ready to play like last week, so we will see in the game who is going to be keeper.

“Licha is out, Nous is out. The rest of the guys are fit and ready to play.”
