Bayern Munich manager, Vincent Kompany, has confessed, Benfica “can be very dangerous.”
The Belgian manager said, “they’ve got top quality in the box, with the experience of Di Maria.”
Kompany made the statements ahead of the Uefa Champions League 2024/25 League Phase match between his side, Bayern Munich, and Benfica at Allianz Arena on Wednesday 6 November, 2024 at 21:00 (WAT).
At his press conference, Kompany said:
On the Benfica game…
“We have to win against Benfica tomorrow, that’s our sole aim. I don’t want to think too much about the format. The crucial thing is: we want to win. We have a good chance tomorrow to hopefully experience a nice evening again.”
On Injury update…
“Sacha Boey is doing well. We didn’t expect him to be back in training yet. Perhaps we’ll get a player back after the international break. We need to have a bit of patience with Hiroki Ito now. It’s a blow for him and for us, but he’ll come back strong and find his form.”
On Benfica…
“They can be very dangerous. They’ve got top quality in the box, with the experience of Di Maria. They always find a path to goal. They have a good mix, they’re a dangerous side. But we have good confidence that we’ll win the match.”
