‘Go forth and conquer’ – Peter Obi to Super Falcons

Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has sent his good wishes to the Super Falcons of Nigeria as they gear up to field against Morocco in the final of the Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations (WAFCON).

Obi prayed, “go forth and conquer Super Falcons.”

To reach the final of the tournament, in the semi finals, Nigeria saw off South Africa 2-1 while Morocco defeated Ghana 4-2 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 full time draw.

The “fearless” Super Falcons, who are the most decorated Women’s Football team on the continent, have clinched the WAFCON a record nine (9) times, and will definitely be eyeing their tenth on Saturday night.

Obi said, the Super Falcons “carry the hopes, dreams, and pride of an entire nation”, adding, “you are not alone as you step onto the pitch tonight in Morocco”.

Nigeria and Morocco will slug it out in the WAFCON final on Saturday 26 July, 2025 at Stade Olympique in Rabat at 21:00 (WAT).
