Super Falcons through to WAFCON semi finals after 5-0 win over Zambia

The Super Falcons of Nigeria made light work of Zambia in the quarter final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Friday 18 July, 2025 in Casablanca, Morocco.

The outcome means the Super Falcons are through to the last four of the tournament.

Nigeria went in front early, in the 2nd minute, through Osinachi Ohale, and Esther Okoronkwo added the second in the 33rd minute.

Chinwendu Ihezuo, Blessing Demehin and Folashade Ijamilusi netted in the 45th, 68th and 90+1 minutes respectively.

Nigeria, the most successful team in the tournament, progressed from Group B as leaders with seven points, clinching wins over Tunisia (3–0) and Botswana (1–0), and playing to a goalless draw with Algeria.
