The Federal Government of Nigeria stands with the United States of America (USA) as the country mourns loss of life in the “devastating floods” in the State of Texas.
Nigeria, through its Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, expressed “sincere condolences” as more than 100 people have been confirmed dead in the disaster.
Minister Tuggar wrote on X: “Nigeria stands with the United States.
“The Federal Government of Nigeria expresses its sincere condolences to the government and people of the United States following the tragic loss of life in the recent devastating floods in Texas and wishes all those injured and impacted by the catastrophe a speedy recovery.”
The search continues for more than 170 people who are still missing after flash floods devastated Central Texas stretched.
Ongoing search operations were underway to find any person lost in the debris after the disastrous July 4 storm, which resulted to the rising of the Guadalupe River rapidly to near-unprecedented levels.
