Crystal Palace has completed the signing of Croatia international Borna Sosa from Ajax on a three-year contract, until 2028.

The 27-year old left-back has become the Eagles’ second signing of the summer, following the arrival of goalkeeper Walter Benítez last week.

Sosa has featured twenty-six (26) times for his country in the last four years, and netted just twice. He was born and raised in Zagreb.

In May 2018, the defender moved to VfB Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga, where both his defensive and creative capabilities as a wing-back glowed.

Sosa clinched an amazing 35 assists – and netted five (5) times – in just 115 games, including 10 assists in the German top-flight in 2020/21.

Later, the Croatia international joined Dutch Eredivisie side, Ajax, in September 2023, where he fielded 25 times across domestic and European competitions, before a further 20 matches on loan at Torino in Serie A last season.

According to the Club’s official website, Steve Parish, Chairman of Crystal Palace, said: “We believe Borna will be a fantastic fit for Crystal Palace. His credentials speak for themselves, and his arrival adds additional quality, experience and depth to our squad. I look forward to welcoming him to South London.”

Sosa expressed his excitement after signing his move to Selhurst Park, and said, he can’t wait to meet his new teammates and fans.

Sosa said: “I’m very excited to join Crystal Palace. I’ve heard so many good things about the club. I cannot wait to meet the players, the staff, and all of the fans, because I’ve heard so many good things. I’m very, very excited to be here.”
