President of Kenya, William Ruto, has said, his government will “not allow retrogressive elements destroy our country.”
He also warned his political rivals against supporting and using violent demonstrations and “unlawful” means to forcibly throw him out of power.
Ruto said, they are using these “retrogressive elements” to “seek shortcuts to rise to power”.
In the lastest wave of anti-government protests in the East African country, more than thirty (30) have been killed, with over 100 people injured.
The Kenyan President said, anyone who attacks Kenyans, Police officers and businesses is a “terrorist”.
President Ruto posted on X: “Those who attack Kenyans, police officers, security installations and businesses are terrorists. Such criminal acts are a declaration of war.
“We will not allow our country to be destroyed by retrogressive elements that are seeking shortcuts to rise to power.
“Enough is enough!”
