Ajax Amsterdam English midfielder, Jordan Henderson, visited Anfield to pay his respects to “friend and former teammate”, Diogo Jota, who passed in a car crash along with his brother, Andre Silva, in Spain.
The 28-year old Portugal international married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso, with whom he had three children, 11 days before the crash.
Jota helped Liverpool clinch its 20th Premier League title (2024/25), and went ahead to play his role in Portugal’s Uefa Nations League 2024/25 triumph, in a 5-3 penalty shootout win over Spain in the final in Germany.
Jordan Henderson featured for Liverpool from 2011 to 2023, and recorded 360 appearances for the Reds, scoring 29 goals.
At Liverpool, Henderson won the Premier League 2019/20, Uefa Champions League 2018/19 among other honours.

Tributes are also being made to Jota alongside his brother André Silva outside of Molineux, home ground of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Jota fielded for Wolves from 2017 to 2020 and helped the club gain promotion from the Championship and qualify for Europe.
He departed Molineux for Anfield in a £45m-deal in September, 2020.
