President Bola Tinubu organized a “reconciliation meeting” at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday 26 June, 2025, where he gathered together all the figures in the Rivers State political crisis.
The meeting aims to restore peace in the South-South State.
Siminalayi Fubara, suspended Governor of Rivers State; alongside Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, came together and agreed to settle their disagreements for the restoration of peace in Rivers State on Thursday.
In March, the President declared a state of emergency, and slammed a six-month suspension on Governor Fubara, his deputy, and all the State House of Assembly members.
Wike assured, “everything is over”.

“President Bola Tinubu hosted a reconciliation meeting on Thursday night at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together all the figures in the Rivers State political crisis.
“Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Speaker Martins Amaewhule, and other Rivers State Assembly members attended the closed-door session.
“On March 18, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency, suspending Governor Fubara, his deputy, and all the State House of Assembly members.”
