American businessman and investor, Elon Musk, said, “I just can’t stand it anymore”, adding, “this massive, Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination”.
The Tesla CEO’s statement is coming after he exited the White House recently.
Musk, however said, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) will continue to function.
The X CEO is parting ways with the Trump administration after helping lead a fierce move to reduce the size of US government that saw thousands of federal jobs axed.
Announcing on his social media platform, X, Musk expressed his appreciation to President Donald Trump for the opportunity to help run the Department of Government Efficiency, known as DOGE.
Musk’s departure from the Trump government is not a surprise as his role was temporary, however, it is coming some hours after the Tesla CEO criticised the legislative centrepiece of Trump’s agenda.
Due to DOGE, an estimated 260,000 out of the 2.3 million-strong federal civilian workforce have had their jobs cut or accepted redundancy deals.
Musk said: “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore.
“This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination.
“Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
