Spanish La Liga club, Sevilla, have sent congratulations to SSC Napoli after emerging the new Kings of Italy following a 2-0 victory over Cagliari in the top flight match at Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Friday 23 May, 2024.
Sevilla wrote on X: “Congratulations on winning the Scudetto, @en_sscnapoli!”
Antonio Conte’s Napoli went in front when former Manchester United Scottish midfielder, Scott McTominay, acrobatically found the back of the net in the 42nd minute, and Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku, sealed the win with the seond in the 51st minute to hand the home side the Scudetto.
The triumph makes it the fourth Scudetto for Napoli – 1986/87, 1989/90. 2022/23 and 2024/25.
It was the 12th goal of the season for McTominay who left Manchester United in 2024, winning the title with Napoli in his first season at the club.
On the other side, Inter travelled to Como 1907 and emerged victorious, winning by two (2) goals to zero (0); Simone Inzaghi’s Nerazzurri finished second on the table with 81 points, just one point trailing League winners, SSC Napoli.
