Mark Carney of the Liberal Party has emerged new Prime Minister of Canada.
Carney, former Bank of England boss, has won Canada’s election to become the North American country’s next Prime Minister.
He was sworn into the position last month after his predecessor, Justin Trudeau, resigned, however, called for a snap election that had Canadians head to the polls on Monday 28 April, 2025.
