Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, said, the move “reaffirms its leading role in European space.”
According to PM Meloni: “With the launch of the Vega C carrier that carried the Sentinel-1C satellite into orbit, Italy reaffirms its leading role in European space.
“Thanks to this success, the result of the work of excellences such as Avio and Thales Alenia Space, our nation confirms itself as one of the few in the world to have autonomous access to space, strategic for our competitiveness and security. An achievement that celebrates Italian talent and the value of international collaboration.
“The Government strongly supports the development of the space sector, a fundamental domain for the geopolitical projection of Italy and its technological and industrial future.”
