‘Issuing empty directives that no one in the police, including the IGP pays serious attention to is deceptive’ – Inibehe Effiong

Human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, quoted Sahara Reporters’ tweet and commented: “This should be the 1000th time that this type of directive has been given by the police leadership.

Issuing empty directives that no one in the police, including the Inspector General of Police, pays serious attention to is deceptive.

The IGP knows that this latest directive is meaningless. If he is serious, let him begin by ordering the immediate release of all those currently being detained illegally.

Police officers will be laughing at this signal.”
