Delta State: House of Assembly has passed the Child Rights (Amendment) Bill 2024 ‘for safeguarding children’s rights’

The Delta State Government announced, the Delta State House of Assembly has passed the Child Rights (Amendment) Bill 2024 to ensure “a more robust legal framework for safeguarding children’s rights”.

According to the Delta State Government: “The Delta State House of Assembly on the 29th of January 2025 passed the Child Rights (Amendment) Bill 2024, ensuring a more robust legal framework for safeguarding children’s rights.


The amendments, shaped by insights from public hearings and stakeholder engagements, align the law with present-day realities, reinforcing protections for children across the state.


This milestone reflects a collective commitment to child welfare and advocacy in Delta State and advances Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s Realistic Reforms vision – because a stronger legal foundation means a safer future for every child.”
