Billboard US Afrobeats Songs Chart: Burna Boy takes number one spot

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, has made history in his beautiful career by moving to the number one spot on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs Chart.

The Nigerian singer and songwriter’s hit track ‘Last Last’ rose to the top spot for the first time on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs Chart on July 16, 2022.

‘Last Last’ is a single off Love, Damini, which is Burna Boy’s sixth studio album.

The 31-year old music producer released the hit song ‘Last Last’ on his birthday, July 2.

The news of this achievement by Burna Boy was officially released by Billboard on its official website, as it noted that the single is the fifth leader on the recently created Afrobeats chart.

Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’ climbed to the number one spot, followed by Tems’ ‘Free Mind’, Wizkid’s ‘Essence’ featuring Tems and Justin Bieber and Fireboy DML’s ‘Peru’ featuring English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran.
