The only goal of the match which was scored by Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez was his first Anfield goal for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson Becker also was outstanding against the Hammers as he saved a penalty to help the Reds secure all three points.
