Uefa Champions League 2022/23: When is the last 16 draw? Plus all teams that qualified

The Uefa Champions League 2022/23 Group stage has come and gone with only 16 teams scaling through out of 32. As we begin to see how the remainder of the tournament will unfold, the first knockout stage draw will take place very soon.

So far this season, there has been beautiful results as well as upsets.

English champions Manchester City as well as Spanish champions Real Madrid are among the clubs that qualified for the last 16, however, other top clubs such as Barcelona and Juventus failed to reach the knockouts.

  2. Who qualified for the Uefa Champions League 2022/23 last 16? All the teams that will be competing in the last 16 of the Uefa Champions League 2022/23 have been confirmed. They are; SSC Napoli, FC Porto, Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Benfica – these teams scaled through as Group toppers, while the remaining eight teams scaled through as runners-up, they are; Liverpool, Club Bruges, Inter, Eintracht Frankfurt, AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
  3. How does the Uefa Champions League 2022/23 draw work? In the last 16 of the Champions League, the eight Group toppers are classified as Seeded while the runners-up are Unseeded. Seeded teams are drawn against Unseeded teams. The former will host the return leg of the tie. Also, teams from the same Group or association cannot be drawn against each other. There are no subsequent seedings for the quarter-final and semi-final draw and teams from the same Group or association can lock horns against each other from that stage.

  6. Important dates for the Uefa Champions League 2022/23? The draw for the quarter-final and semi-final will take place on 17 March. The semi-finalists’ identities will not be known at the time of the draw, as the quarter-final will take place in April afterwards. The quarter-finals will be played on 11, 12, 18 and 19 April, the semi-finals on 9, 10, 16 and 17 May. The final of the tournament which will be hosted at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, will be played on 10 June.
