England forward, Harry Kane, scored a brace in the second half for Bayern Munich as the German Bundesliga 2035/26 toppers hustled from the back to discomfit Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in the top flight encounter on Saturday 28 February, 2026 at Signal Iduna Park, Germany’s largest Stadium with more than 80,000 seats.
The victory means Bayern Munich have now moved eleven (11) points clear at the top of the standings.
Kane has now netted a whopping forty-five (45) goals for Bayern Munich this season in all competitions; the Bavarians have also emerged the only team to land a defeat on Borussia Dortmund in the League at home this campaign.
The Englishman, who has now netted more than 500 goals in his career, a feat that was achieved in February, found the back of the net twice within sixteen (16) minutes to place the visitors ahead after the Black and Yellows had gone in front in the first half.
The hosts thought they had grabbed a point when Daniel Svensson’s thumping volley in the 83rd minute from M. Sabitzer’s assist sent supporters inside the Signal Iduna Park into wild celebrations.
However, a goal from Joshua Kimmich late, in the 87th minute, ensured Bayern Munich carted home all three (3) points to extend their lead at the zenith of the table.
Bayern Munich, guided by Vincent Kompany, are now in a very strong and comfortable position to lift their 14th title in 15 sessons.
Nico Schlotterbeck’s header opened the scoring for the home side in the 26th minute after D. Svensson had provided; Schlotterbeck, German defender, lifted himself really high in a congested penalty area to connect with Svensson’s free-kick from the left.
Dortmund would have doubled their lead, but, Maximilian Beier’s effort was saved by Bayern goalkeeper, Jonas Urbig.
But, Kane levelled in the 54th minute following a move encompassing Kimmich and Serge Gnabry, and in the 70th minute, the England international netted the second from the penalty spot.
Bayern Munich were unable to test Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel in the first half despite mounting heavy pressure on the hosts with a powerful three in front – Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz.
Kane’s second was his 10th penalty in a Bundesliga season and it came after Josip Stanisic was fouled on by Schlotterbeck.
