German attacking midfielder, Serge Gnabry, netted twice to help Bayern Munich to an easy 4-0 victory over Union Berlin in the Bundesliga 2025/26 match at Allianz Arena on Saturday 21 March, 2026.
Michael Olise netted first to open the scoring for Bayern Munich in the 43rd minute with an assist from Leon Goretzka.
And Gnabry netted the second in the 1st minute of first half additional time before Harry Kane found the third just four (4) minutes into the second half; the England international successfully converted Konrad Laimer’s assist.
Kane’s goal has now taken his tally to thirty-one (31) for the season in the German top flight, and this means the former Tottenham Hotspur forward is now ten (10) goals trailing the record set by former Bayern Munich Polish sharpshooter Robert Lewandowski in 2020/21.
Victory was sealed for Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich when Gnabry netted the fourth in the 67th minute.
On the possibility of breaking Lewandowski’s goal record, in his post-victory comments, Kane told newsmen: “It’s still possible, I just have to keep doing what I’m doing. All it takes is a hat-trick or a couple of braces in a row and then it’ll look a bit more likely.”
Kane has been named in Thomas Tuchel’s 35-player sqaud for friendly matches against Uruguay and Japan.
Manager Tuchel confirmed, he will rest Kane alongside some other players for the friendly against Uruguay, but, will field them when the Three Lions face Japan.
On the schedule ahead leading to the World Cup, Kane said: “I think it makes sense when we look at the April schedule, May and then going into the World Cup, trying to use this time now to be as fresh as possible in that period.
Bayern Munich will feature in the Bundesliga 2025/26 next when they play against SC Freiburg on Saturday 4 April, 2026 at 14:30 (WAT) at Europa-Park Stadium.
