Guided by Finidi George, Rivers United climbed to the summit of the table after twenty-four (24) encounters.
After a goalless first half, the Pride of Rivers netted the only goal of the game through Stephen Manyo with a fine finish late, in the 84th minute, as the home side carted maximum points.
