‘NNPCL holds 7.25% stake in Dangote Refinery’ – Ojulari

GCEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPC Ltd), Bashir Bayo Ojulari, disclosed, the Company currently holds a “7.25%” stake in the Dangote Refinery.

Ojulari made the disclosure when he visited the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Ibeju-Lekki, in Lagos State on Saturday 21 February, 2026.

The NNPC Ltd GCEO said, he sees “substantial opportunity” for both Companies to widen upstream and cooperate in areas like, “trading and shipping” under the “investor-friendly” reforms of the Tinubu administration in the Oil and Gas sector.

Ojulari said: “My visit today to the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, marked a significant step toward strengthening the operational and commercial relationship between NNPC Limited and Dangote Refinery.

“Although NNPC Ltd currently holds a 7.25 per cent stake in the refinery, there is a substantial opportunity for both companies to expand upstream and collaborate in areas such as trading, shipping, and gas supplies—anchored by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary leadership and investor-friendly reforms in the oil and gas sector.”

The NNPC Ltd Chief reasserted the Compan’s commitment to strengthening collaboration to bring about “energy security”, as well as, deliver values to the people of Nigeria.

Ojulari said: “We reaffirm our commitment to deepening cooperation in pursuit of shared objectives: ensuring energy security, driving industrial growth, and delivering value to Nigerians.”
