Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, said, “2026 is going to be amazing!” after enjoying a “lovely” dinner with President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, and his wife and First Lady, Melania Trump, at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
The X Owner’s recent appearance with the US Leader is happening following his stint as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and their later fallout.
Elon Musk posted on X: “Had a lovely dinner last night with @POTUS and @FLOTUS.
“2026 is going to be amazing!”
The post included a photo of 79-year old Trump, Melanie Trump and Musk enjoying dinner together at a table.
Fox News reports, the photo was taken on Saturday evening at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Musk was DOGE Chief from January until May 30, 2025, when Trump announced that Musk would be exiting his post once his special government employee contract ended.
The businessman was a top supporter of Trump, who was making his way back to the White House for a second term, during the 2024 presidential campaign.
Following Trump’s return to office in January 2025, the billionaire was appointed head of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The closeness deteriorated quickly after Musk resigned from DOGE in May 2025 in the midst of heightening criticism of the department’s agenda.
The dinner at Mar-a-Lago is happening some hours after Forces of the United States (US) bombed Venezuela and captured Nicolas Maduro, the country’s President.
On Saturday 3 January, 2026, Maduro was captured alongside his wife and First Lady, Cilia Flores from Caracas.
The Venezuelan President was immediately flown out of the country to the US in an American military aircraft.
Trump said, the US would “run” Venezuela until a “proper and judicious” transition was in effect.
