Amorim parted ways with Manchester United on Monday 5 January, 2026, leaving the club on the 6th spot on the table.

After retiring, the Northern Irishman stayed at the Club as Head of Loans and Pathways, and is now focused on assisting Fletcher, his former team-mate, ensure the squad is in the best position for the clash against Burnley.
Also, Travis Binnion, Under-21s manager, and Alan Wright, who was recently added to the Academy coaching set-up, will work with Fletcher for the match at Burnley.
Accordinf to the Club’s official website, at his press conference ahead of the Wednesday showdown, Fletcher said: “So Travis Binnion, who leads the Under-21s, who I started my coaching career with in the Academy, whom I’ve know for five years that I’ve been here.
“I actually couldn’t ask for anybody better beside me than Travis, we’ve got such a close relationship together, for such a long time, [he is] somebody I respect, somebody who I’ve learned a lot from.
“His assistant, Alan Wright, who is newly joined [at] the club as well, so the Under-21s staff come and join me, and Jonny Evans has come in to help as well.
“…so those three will assist me for the game tomorrow.”
