China, Brazil, Spain, and others have expressed their reactions following the capture of Nicolas Maduro, President of Venezuela, alongside his wife, by the United States (US) Forces.
The capture of the Venezuelan Leader and his wife was announced by Donald Trump, President of the United States (US); as well as, Pamela Bondi, US Attorney General.
China, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Spokesperson, expressed “deep shock”, and “strongly” condemned the “blatant use of force” by the US on an independent country, and move against Maduro.
President of Brazil, Lula Da Silva, said, the “bombing” of Venezuela and capture of Maduro “cross an unacceptable line”.
Prime Minister of Spain, Medro Sanchez, said, Spain is carrying out a “thorough monitoring” of happenings in Venezuela, and called for “de-escalation and responsibility”.
Reactions following capture of Maduro and wife:
Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, reacted: “The Government of Spain is conducting a thorough monitoring of the events in Venezuela. Our embassy and consulates are operational.
“We call for de-escalation and responsibility. International Law and the principles of the United Nations Charter must be respected.”

China reacted: “China is deeply shocked by and strongly condemns the U.S.’s blatant use of force against a sovereign state and action against its president.
“Such hegemonic acts of the U.S. seriously violate international law and Venezuela’s sovereignty, and threaten peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean region. China firmly opposes it.
“We call on the U.S. to abide by international law and the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and stop violating other countries’ sovereignty and security.”

President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, reacted: “Kosovo stands firmly with the United States and President @realDonaldTrump in support of its actions against Venezuela’s narco-terror regime.
“President Trump stood with the people of Venezuela and stood up to Maduro’s narco-state — protecting America and the rest of the world from cartels and organized crime. This is what strength and American leadership look like.”

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reacted: “The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejects, repudiates, and denounces before the international community the extremely serious military aggression perpetrated by the current Government of the United States of America
“against Venezuelan territory and population in the civilian and military locations of the city of Caracas, capital of the Republic, and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira.
“This act constitutes a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, particularly its Articles 1 and 2, which enshrine respect for sovereignty, the legal equality of States, and the prohibition on the use of force.
“Such aggression threatens international peace and stability, specifically that of Latin America and the Caribbean, and puts the lives of millions of people at grave risk.”

Lula Da Silva, President of Brazil, reacted: “The bombings on Venezuelan territory and the capture of its president cross an unacceptable line. These acts represent a most serious affront to Venezuela’s sovereignty and yet another extremely dangerous precedent for the entire international community.
“The condemnation of the use of force is consistent with the position that Brazil has always adopted in recent situations in other countries and regions.
“The international community, through the United Nations, needs to respond vigorously to this episode. Brazil condemns these actions and remains available to promote the path of dialogue and cooperation.”
