Akor Adams’ mum discharged from hospital

Update from Morocco has revealed that Sevilla forward, Akor Jerome Adams’ mother has been discharged from hospital in Fes, Morocco.

The striker had left the Super Eagles camp “temporarily” to be with his mum after being hospitalised.

According to the Super Eagles Supporters Club: “Glad to hear Akor Adams’ mum has been discharged from the hospital in Fes yesterday and is now back home with family. Wishing her good health and strength.”

Nigeria clinched its spot in the AFCON 2025 last eight (8) after making light work of Mozambique 4-0 in the Round of 16 on Monday night.

Hopefully, Akor Adams can now focus 100% on the quarter finals showdown against Algeria on Saturday 10 January, 2026 in Marrakesh.

Algeria reached the quarter finals of the tournament after a lone goal victory over Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) in the knockouts on Tuesday 6 January, 2026.

The Desert Warriors controlled possession for long periods, but DR Congo stayed still, and dragged the clash into extra time after a goalless draw in regulation.

In the 119th minute, 22-year old Adil Boulbina, launched a decisive strike that shook the net and sparked heavy celebrations among the Algerian supporters.
