The Super Eagles cruised into the knockout stage of the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) 2025 with a perfect record, winning all three preliminaries and finishing with nine (9) points at the summit of Group C.
While Nigeria made light work of Uganda in Fes, Tunisia struggled against Tanzania to clinch one (1) point after a 1-1 result.
Belgian club, Club Brugge, midfielder, Raphael Onyedika, scored twice, and Turkish Süper Lig club, Trabzonspor, striker, Paul Onuachu, scored his first goal for Nigeria in four (4) years to hand the West African side all three (3) points.
Nigeria finished Group C toppers, trailed by Tunisia with four (4) points, and Tanzania third with two (2) points, but, qualified to the round of 16 as one of the four best third-placed sides following their 1-1 draw with Tunisia on Tuesday.

Eric Chelle’s Nigeria went in front through Onuachu in the 28th minute, and Onyedika netted a brace in the 62nd and 67th minutes after Uganda’s J. Salim had bagged a straight red card and sent off in the 56th minute.
The Cranes scored a consolation through Rogers Mato and used three goalkeepers in the game following an injury and a red card for Salim.
Onyedika’s double were both provided by winger Samuel Chukwueze.
