Finidi George’s Rivers United have climbed to the second spot of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2025/26 table after coming from the back to beat Plateau United 2-1 on Thursday 11 December, 2025 at Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, Plateau State.
Plateau United took the lead through S. Nenrot in the 21st minute and remained ahead all through the first half.
But, in the 52nd minute, Boluwaji Sholumade levelled for Rivers United and in the 4th minute of the six (6) minutes added time, the Pride Of Rivers were in front through Wisdom Ndon.
The outcome means Rivers United have successfully maintained their unbeaten away run.
Rivers United are now second on the table after accumulating thirty (30) points from fifteen (15) encounters, same points as toppers, Nasarawa United, who have played sixteen (16) games, while, Plateau United are 17th with eighteen (18) points from sixteen (16) matches.
Next, Rivers United will face Wikki Tourists in the NPFL on Sunday 14 December, 2025 at 16:00 (WAT) at the 38,000 capacity Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
