In his statement, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commended the Nigerian Senate for their “expedited” confirmation of General Christopher Musa as the country’s Minister of Defence.
The name of General Christopher G. Musa, a former Chief of Defence Staff, was sent to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation two (2) days ago by the President.
General Musa’s appointment is coming at a “critical juncture in our lives as a Nation”, the President said.
In his statement on X, signed by himself, President Tinubu said: “Two days ago, I transmitted the name of General Christopher G. Musa, our immediate past Chief of Defence Staff and a fine gentleman, to the Nigerian Senate for confirmation as the Federal Minister of Defence.
“I want to commend the Nigerian Senate for its expedited confirmation of General Musa yesterday. His appointment comes at a critical juncture in our lives as a Nation.
“God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
