Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu, went along with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the National Assembly for the presentation of the 2026 Budget on Friday 19 December, 2025 to a joint session.
The priorities of the 2026 Budget encompasses focus on “defence and national security”, as well as, “food security”.
The Governor said, the 2026 Federal Government Budget will bring about “sustainable growth”, and, generally improve the lives of Nigerians.
Governor Sanwo-olu posted: “I accompanied His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the National Assembly for the presentation of the 2026 Budget to a joint session.
“In his address, His Excellency outlined the priorities and direction of the administration in the budget to focus on defence and national security, human capital development, completion of ongoing infrastructural projects and food security.
“The 2026 Federal Government budget has strong emphasis on economic responsibility, sustainable growth, and policies aimed at improving the overall welfare of Nigerians.”

President Tinubu departed Abuja on Saturday for Borno, Bauchi and Lagos States.
The President will spend his end-of-the-year holiday in Lagos State after visiting Borno and Bauchi States.
