Photos: President Tinubu receives Eyo Festival organizers at his residence in Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu; alongside Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu, received Eyo Festival organizers at the residence of the former Lagos State Governor in Lagos.

The President is currently in the Southwestern State for his end-of-the-year holiday.

Tinubu landed in Lagos following his visits to Borno and Bauchi States.

The visit of the organizers to the President signalled the commencement of the forthcoming Eyo festival on December 27.

Eyo Festival is a Yoruba Festival unique to Lagos and possesses a powerful historical footing in Iperu-Remo, a town in Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State. It is currently seen as a tourist event by Lagosians; and traditionally performed in Lagos Island.

The word ‘Eyo’ means costumed dancers, known as masquerades, that show themselves during the Festival.
