Madueke with the brace as Arsenal cart 3-0 Champions League win at Club Brugge

Noni Madueke netted twice as Premier League side, Arsenal, beat Belgian Pro League side, Club Brugge, to maintain their perfect record in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26, as well as, secure their position in the knockout phase.

Spanish head coach, Mikel Arteta, rearranged his side by making five (5) changes to the side that lost 2-1 to Aston Villa on Saturday 6 December , 2025 at Villa Park in the Premier League, and it was one of those players, Noni Madueke, who opened the scoring with a beautiful strike in the 25th minute.

Madueke, who featured for Chelsea from 2023 to 2025, wriggled through one defender before firing a shot from 20 yards which went in off the crossbar.

The hosts did pile some pressure on Arsenal’s much modified backline just before the end of the first 45 minutes, but, goalkeeper David Raya made jaw-dropping saves from Christos Tzolis and Aleksandar Stankovic to to ensure the visitors remained in front.

Just two (2) minutes into the second half, Martin Zubimendi’s stunning cross was well headed into the net by Madueke to make it two for Arsenal.

All three (3) points were confirmed when Gabriel Martinelli netted the third for the Gunners in the 56th minutes, curling in a wonderful strike.

Another win for Arsenal on Wednesday night was Gabriel Jesus making his first appearance after more than three hundred (300) days following his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury; the Brazilian forward’s strike late in the area hit the back.

Lovers and supporters of Arsenal have been calling for Arteta to make amendments to his squad as a result of the injuries the Gunners have and volume of games, and against Club Brugge he made sure to listen – the Spaniard made five (5) changes from the side that lost to Aston Villa at the weekend which yielded positive result in Belgium.

Next, Arsenal will lock horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League match on Saturday 13 December, 2025 at Emirates Stadium at 21:00 (WAT).
