Dapo Abiodun, Executive Governor of Ogun State, has said, the Southwestern State is “uniquely positioned” to establish a “strong foundation” for the production of solar energy.
The Governor made the statement when he visited BlueCarbon, manufacturer of solar products in Rizhao, Shandong Province, China.
Abiodun said, his government will not stop to discuss with BlueCarbon to “explore potential areas of collaboration” to utilise its ample sunlight and silica deposits for the development of renewable energy.
Governor Abiodun posted on X: “We visited BlueCarbon, a foremost manufacturer of solar products in Rizhao, Shandong Province. The company specializes in solar panels, batteries, inverter systems, and DC fridges. During our tour, we were taken through their impressive manufacturing processes and had the opportunity to see their factories firsthand.
“We were particularly encouraged when they noted that Ogun State possesses many of the natural resources needed to establish a solar manufacturing plant. With our long hours of daily sunlight, we are uniquely positioned to build a strong foundation for solar energy production.
“As a government, we remain committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions, and we will continue our discussions with BlueCarbon to explore potential areas of collaboration in harnessing our abundant sunlight and silica deposits for renewable energy development.”
