Manchester City sign goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma

Premier League club, Manchester City, have secured the deadline day signing of Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, from French Ligue 1 club, Paris Saint-Germaine (PSG).

The Cityzens got Donnarumma’s signature after the goalie’s appearance for his country, Italy, during the international break.

Donnarumma put pen to paper on a contract that will have him stay at Etihad Stadium for the next five (5) years, until the summer of 2030.

The Italy international has won several major trophies with Italian Serie A club, AC Milan; PSG and Italy.

He helped Luis Enrique’s PSG win the Uefa Champions League 2024/15, humiliating Simone Inzaghi’s Inter 5-0 in the final in Germany; in the same season, with the Les Parisiens, Donnarumma won the Ligue 1, Coupe De France.

Across his spells with AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and his Italy, Donnarumma has won 12 major honours, encompassing, the UEFA Champions League, four successive Ligue 1 titles and the 2020 UEFA European Championship.

Definitely, the Italian will be eyeing to win more honours with Manchester City.

At the international break, Donnarumma captained Italy to victories, through their two (2) Uefa 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Estonia and Israel.
