On his 70th birthday on Sunday 14 September, 2025, Pope Leo XIV expressed his gratitude to God Almighty for His “immense love”.
Robert Francis Prevost, Papally called Pope Leo XIV, was born on September 14, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, United States (US).
In his message on Sunday, Pope Leo XIV preached about God’s “immense love”, which he says “is greater than our own sin”.
Pope Leo XIV taught on X: “Today we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross: for the immense love with which God has transformed the means to death into an instrument of life, embracing it for our salvation, teaching us that nothing can separate us from him and that his love is greater than our own sin.”
The Bishop of Rome succeeded Late Pope Francis in May, 2025 after two days of voting by a Conclave of more than 100 Cardinals inside the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican, Italy.
The Head of the Catholic Church thanked “friends” and his parents who sent him prayers on his day.
Pope Leo XIV wrote on X: “Dear friends, today I turn seventy years old. I give thanks to the Lord and to my parents; and I thank all those who have remembered me in their prayers.”
