Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has assured, his administration will make sure the State’s facilities “will no longer be run at a loss”.
Eno made the assurance when he inspected the ongoing renovation of the Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort on Tuesday.
The South-South State has “heavily” made investments in the business of hospitality including, “Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort to Four Points by Sheraton, ARISE Resort”, the Governor said.
Eno said, henceforth, these facilities “must be strategically managed as profit-making ventures that create jobs”, as well as, give Akwa Ibom the recognition it deserves.
Governor Eno posted on X: “I visited the Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort to inspect the ongoing renovation of facilities.
“Our state has invested heavily in hospitality assets, from Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort to Four Points by Sheraton, ARISE Resort, and facilities in Lagos and Abuja.
“Under my administration, these facilities will no longer run at a loss. They must be strategically managed as profit-making ventures that create jobs and showcase our state to the world.”
Eno made known, his administration is establishing a “Strategic Hospitality Management Group” that will build a “strong, homegrown Akwa Ibom brand” that will prosper like Ibom Air.
He added, the first forty (40) renovated rooms of the Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort will be ready for use before Yuletide to make Akwa Ibom a top choice for tourism and business.
Governor Eno further posted: “We are setting up a Strategic Hospitality Management Group to develop a strong, homegrown Akwa Ibom brand, just like we did with Ibom Air. I invite our talented Akwa Ibom professionals in the hospitality industry, both at home and abroad, to join us and help us make this vision a reality.
“The first 40 renovated rooms will be ready by October and open for use in December, just before Christmas. Together, we will make Akwa Ibom a top destination for tourism and business.”
