‘We’ve made real progress without borrowing a Kobo’ – Governor Eno

Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, said, his government has kept the promise it made two years ago to Akwa Ibomites to be “transparent” about the State’s progress.

Eno said, from infrastructure, aviation, agriculture, job creation, the South-South State has achieved “real progress without borrowing a Kobo.”

The Governor made the statement at the public presentation of the Socio-Economic Impact of the ARISE Agenda on Thursday.

Eno said, he is not “slowing down” as there are fifty (50) ongoing projects, and with a “renewed” relationship with the Federal Government, his government remains committed to leading Akwa Ibom to prosperity.

Also, to “deepen transparency”, as well as, “accurately measure” his administration’s impact using verifiable data, the Governor announced a collaboration with the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Taking to X, Governor Eno said: “I hosted the public presentation of the Socio-Economic Impact of the ARISE Agenda earlier today, after two years in office.

“In my inaugural speech, I promised to be transparent about our progress, and I’m proud we’ve kept that promise. From infrastructure, healthcare, aviation, agriculture, job creation, and social impact, we’ve made real progress without borrowing a Kobo.

“I also announced our collaboration with the National Bureau of Statistics to deepen transparency and accurately measure our impact using verifiable data.

“We’re not slowing down. With over 50 major projects ongoing and a renewed partnership with the federal government, we remain focused on building a prosperous Akwa Ibom that is data-driven, inclusive, and sustainable.

“Thank you to all stakeholders who continue to support this vision. We press forward, united and committed. God bless Akwa Ibom State.”
