Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said, the Cityzens are “ready” to field against Wolves on Saturday evening.
The Spaniard described City’s “short” pre-season as a “really good one” as he gets set to guide the Cityzens in his 10th season at Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola’s Manchester City have had an unpopular pre-season, featuring in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in the USA before enjoying a short break and returning to the CFA over the past three weeks in a bid to be fit and geared up for the 2025/26 season.
On Saturday 16 August, 2025, Manchester City will travel to Molineux for their Premier League 2025/26 opener against Wolverhampton Wanderers at 17:30 (WAT).
According to the Club’s official website, at his press conference prior to the top flight showdown, Guardiola said: “We are ready.
“We make a short pre-season but it was a really good one.
“We are ready to enjoy the good moments and bounce back as soon as possible from the bad ones.”
The Cityzens struggled all through the 2024/25 due to injury problems that struck the team, however, they hustled back and clinched a spot in the Uefa Champions League 2025/26.
The former Barcelona manager is certain there will be improvements in the new season.
When asked about expectations from his side, Guardiola answered: “Yes. I can’t assure you but the signs are that we will be better.
“Maybe we can be worse! You never know. But I think we will be better.”
