Political Activist, Aisha Yesufu, said, she has seen a couple of soldiers “complaining” about the $100,000 cash reward given to the Super Falcons and D’Tigress by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The President rewarded the Super Falcons and D’Tigress with a whopping $100,000, flat, and national honours each; coaches received $50,000 along with flat and national honours each.

Yesufu suggested National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, must ensure President Tinubu meet with soldiers “and give them reason not to be disillusioned”.

The rewards are coming after Super Falcons and D’Tigress emerged Champions in the WAFCON 2025 and 2025 FIBA Afrobasket respectively.

The Super Falcons came from the back to beat Morocco 3-2 in the WAFCON final in Morocco, while, D’Tigress also came from the behind to discomfit Mali 78-64 in the Afrobasket final in Cote D’Ivoire.

Aisha Yesufu wrote: “I have seen a couple of soldiers complaining about the $100,000 gift awarded to both the female football team and the female basketball team.

“Has Nuhu Ribadu @NuhuRibadu thought it fit to ensure Mr Tinubu who rigged office to become C-In-C talks to soldiers or meet with soldiers or send a message to soldiers and give them reason not to be disillusioned?

“Or are we going to pretend all is well until they lose zeal to fight for nation or even sabotage it?”
