In the third round of matches of the Spanish La Liga 2025/26 season, Real Madrid defeated Mallorca 2-1 despite having three (3) of its goals ruled out by VAR.
The match at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, Spain, had the visitors take the lead through Vedat Muriqi after Los Blancos forward, Kylian Mbappe, had his early goal in the 7th minute struck out by VAR.
Arda Guler and Vinicius Junior netted both Real goals in the space of two minutes, in the 37th and 38th minutes respectively, to maintain their side’s winning start to the season.
Xabi Alonso’s side kept pushing for goals and found two (2) more through Mbappe in the 1st minute of first half additional information, and Güler in the 55th minute, however, both goals were cancelled by VAR.
Real won their opening two top flight matches against Osasuna and Real Oviedo. Mallorca have taken just one point from their first two matches, including their season opener against defending champions, Barcelona.
