The Nigerian Leader arrived in Brasilia, from Los Angeles, United States (US), where he stopped over after jetting out of Japan following his participation at the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9).
The two-day TICAD 9 Summit held in the city of Yokohama from Wednesday 20 August to Friday 22 August, 2025.
Arriving in the Brazilian Capital, President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, welcomed President Tinubu with full military honours.
This is President Tinubu’s third trip to Brazil in less than twelve (12) months.
Following reactions over the President’s frequent travels to the South American country, the Presidency came out to say, President Tinubu’s visit to Brazil is not a “mere coincidence” but a “deliberate strategy”.
