A Peruvian woman has been accused of trying to smuggle $70,000-worth (£52,000) of cocaine and ecstasy into Bali, Eastern Indonesia, hidden in her underwear and a sex toy.
According to Police, the woman, who was only identified by the initials N.S., was intercepted by customs officials who felt she was acting atypical.
Director of Bali Police’s Narcotics Unit, Radiant, told reporters: “The narcotics were hidden in six plastic packages wrapped in black duct tape inside a green bra, three similar packages in black underwear, and a sex toy containing drugs, which was inserted into her body.”
The woman, forty-two (42) years of age, has been charged under the drug laws of Indonesia, and if found guilty could be sentenced to death.
Radiant revealed that 1.4kg (3.1lb) of cocaine and 43 ecstasy pills were found in total.
He further revealed that the woman revealed she had received a payment of $19,000 to smuggle the drugs into Bali by someone she met on the dark web in April.
She boarded a flight from Barcelona, Spain, to the Indonesian island with a stopover in Doha, police disclosed, landing at the international airport on 12 August.
The woman was apprehended not long after being intercepted at the airport, when customs officials alerted police.
