Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has extended his “heartfelt” prayers to the injured and those affected in the Abuja-Kaduna train derailment.
Expressing his “deep sadness” to the unforunate incident, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Coalition member urged authorities to ensure “accountability” and “swiftly” make available medical support for those injured.
The 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) said, we must continue to support the rail transport system as it is a “critical component” of development.
Obi wrote on X: “Abuja–Kaduna Train Derailment
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the Abuja- Kaduna train derailment today. My heartfelt prayers are with the injured and all affected.
“The rail transport system is a critical component of development, and we must continue to embrace it.
“I urge the authorities to act swiftly to provide adequate medical support to the injured, ensure accountability, and restore confidence in our transport infrastructure.
“We keep all affected in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
