European Union in Nigeria (EU in Nigeria) has congratulated Nigeria’s Women’s Football Team, Super Falcons; and the Women’s Basketball Team, D’Tigress, on their recent triumphs.
The Super Falcons won their 10th WAFCON title in Morocco on Saturday 26 July, 2025, and D’Tigress won their seventh AfroBasket title in Cote D’Ivoire on Sunday 3 August, 2025.
EU in Nigeria said, “Never underestimate Niaja ladies!”, adding, it “remains Nigeria’s reliable partner for inclusiveness”.
Nigeria’s 78-64 win over Mali in the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket final was the country’s fifth title back-to-back.
EU in Nigeria wrote on X: “Like the Falcons, like D’Tigress. Never underestimate Niaja ladies! Congratulations, D’Tigress, for the historic feat of clinching your fifth consecutive AfroBasket title. The EU remains Nigeria’s reliable partner for inclusiveness.”
