South Korean forward, Heung-Min Son, has officially departed Tottenham Hotspur for Major League Soccer (MLS) club, Los Angeles FC.
Former teammate and now Bayern Munich forward, Harry Kane, sent his good wishes to Son, praying him “success in his next steps” in the United States (US).
Kane said, he had “many magical moments” with the South Korea Captain, expressing his “joy” following Son’s Uefa Europa League 2024/25 triumph in Spain.
Son helped Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur clinch a lone goal victory over Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United in the final of the Uefa Europa League in Spain.
According to Tottenham Hotspur official website, after Son’s departure from Spurs, Chairman, Daniel Levy, said: “Sonny is one of the greatest players to ever wear the famous Lilywhite shirt and he has been a joy to watch over the past decade. Not only is he a wonderfully gifted footballer, but he’s also an incredible human being who has touched hearts and inspired people throughout the Club and all over the world.
“The Europa League triumph in Bilbao was a truly magical moment in the Club’s history and Sonny lifting the trophy is a perfect lasting memory from his fantastic decade at Tottenham Hotspur.
“Sonny has given so much to this Club, both on and off the pitch, and for that we are forever grateful. We wish him all the best for the future, and he will always be welcome back at the Club as a beloved and cherished member of our Spurs family.”
Kane wrote on X: “Sonny Sonny Sonny. What can I say. We shared so many magical moments together on and off the pitch over the years. As a person and a player you deserved all the success you’ve enjoyed. One of the very best people in the game.
“It gave me such joy to see you lift a trophy last season and no doubt you’ll be a success with your next steps. See you soon”
