Kane scores late winner as Bayern Munich progress with 3-2 win over Wehen Wiesbaden in DFB Cup

English forward, Harry Kane, netted late to help Bayern Munich through to the second round of the DFB-Pokal 2025/26 with a last-gasp 3-2 victory over Wehen Wiesbaden.

The 3. Liga club appeared ready to force extra time, and a potential high-profile scalp, however, Kane’s late goal helped the Bavarians scale through after Wiesbaden had come from behind.

Kane and Frenchman, Michael Olise, placed Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich two goals in front in the 16th from the penalty spot and 51st minutes respectively.

However, Wiesbaden hustled back as their captain, Fatih Kaya, found the back of the net two times within six (6) minutes, in the 64th and 70th minutes.

Kane then won another penalty as he was fouled in the box by Milad Nejad, however, the England international saw his effort towards the bottom-left corner saved by Stritzel.

The Englishman eventually sealed victory for Bayern in the 4th minute of additional time.

In his post-victory comments on X, Kane said: “Got the job done in the end. Into the next round which is the main thing and lots to learn from.”
